Brooklyn Hooker is Controller for Kentucky Highlands Investment Corporation. Brooklyn oversees the accounting department and provides support to the Chief Financial Officer. The accounting department is responsible for the consolidated financial statements of Kentucky Highlands Investment Corporation and its subsidiaries, management reports, grants management and reporting, loan management, business planning, and numerous bank and investment accounts. The accounting department also collects and manages impact information for reporting to various funding sources and prepares projections for funding applications. Brooklyn serves as the primary contact during outside audits and assists with funding applications. Brooklyn reviews and analyzes financial reports, provides financial analysis, and ensures that the duties assigned to the accounting department are completed efficiently and accurately. Ms. Hooker earned a Masters of Business Administration degree from the University of the Cumberlands in 2011. She received a Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting from Eastern Kentucky University in 2008, where she received a Presidential academic scholarship. Brooklyn is also a graduate of Leadership Tr-County.

Tennille Reed

Assistant Controller

Tennille Reed is the Assistant Controller for Kentucky Highlands Investment Corporation.  She analyzes and reconciles trial balances for over 100 funds for the correct presentation of unrestricted and temporarily restricted funds.  Tennille’s responsibilities also include preparing audit schedules and numerous investment-related monthly management report schedules.  She is in charge of compiling and reporting investment impact information to various funding sources including OFN, Aeris, CDFI, etc.  Tennille also prepares all of the CDFI Bond Guarantee Program compliance reports, as well as compliance reports for several other grant and loan sources, and she assists in the preparation of projections for Kentucky Highlands Investment Corporation’s annual business plan. Mrs. Reed earned a Master of Business Administration degree from the University of Kentucky and graduated Summa Cum Laude from Morehead State University with a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in Finance.  She is also a graduate of Leadership Tri-County, Leadership East Kentucky, and the ExcelCEO Excel 2016 Master program.

Kelly Lowe

Accountant

Kelly Lowe is an Accountant for Kentucky Highlands Investment Corporation.  She is responsible for preparing various monthly management report schedules as well as compiling and reporting corporate financial information to various funding sources.  She is responsible for entering new loans into the computer system and shares the responsibility of reporting on the loan portfolio.  Kelly’s responsibilities also include compiling information and preparing various audit schedules along with processing payroll and payroll reports. Kelly has experience in a variety of areas including accounting, marketing, bookkeeping, and secretarial duties.  She began her career at Kentucky Highlands as receptionist and later made the transition to accounting as she pursued the completion of her Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting. Kelly earned a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from the University of the Cumberlands in December 2021.  She received an Associate’s Degree in Office Administration from Crown College in 2000.  Kelly graduated from the Leadership Tri-County program in 2017 and was elected to its board upon graduation where she continues to serve.
Kristi Kitzmiller works in the accounting department at Kentucky Highlands Investment Corporation.  Kristi balances and reconciles bank accounts, processes and records incoming payments, and invoices customers.  She is in charge of processing accounts payable and receivable, recording financial transactions and bank transfers, and assisting line of credit borrowers with payments received and cash draws. Prior to working at Kentucky Highlands Investment Corporation, Kristi was Manager of Brookhaven Christian Bookstore for 20+ years.  She managed the daily operations of the bookstore, managed staff and merchandise, was in charge of ordering and receiving, and worked with customer billing and receiving, as well as record keeping.  She has a bachelor degree from Cumberland College.
Katie-Beth Bowling is an accountant at Kentucky Highlands Investment Corporation. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Accounting from the University of Kentucky in 2021 and is currently enrolled in the Master of Business Administration Program at the University of the Cumberlands. Katie-Beth is responsible for general ledger accounting functions including analyzing and reconciling numerous funds and preparing monthly management report schedules. Katie-Beth’s responsibilities include reconciling bank accounts for Kentucky Highlands and its five subsidiaries. She also prepares both financial and narrative reports for various OCS grants.
