Cindy Bowles - Controller

CindyCindy Bowles is Controller for Kentucky Highlands Investment Corporation. Cindy oversees the accounting department and provides support to the Chief Financial Officer. The accounting department is responsible for the consolidated financial statements of Kentucky Highlands Investment Corporation and its subsidiaries, management reports, grants management and reporting, loan management, business planning, and numerous bank and investment accounts. The accounting department also collects and manages impact information for reporting to various funding sources and prepares projections for funding applications. Cindy serves as the primary contact during outside audits and assists with funding applications. Cindy reviews and analyzes financial reports, provides financial analysis, and ensures that the duties assigned to the accounting department are completed efficiently and accurately.

Brooklyn Hooker - Accountant

BrooklynBrooklyn Hooker is an Accountant for Kentucky Highlands Investment Corporation. Brooklyn assists in the preparation of monthly consolidated financial statements for Kentucky Highlands and its five subsidiaries. She is responsible for general ledger accounting functions including analyzing and reconciling numerous funds and grants and preparing monthly management report schedules. Brooklyn's responsibilities include reconciling all bank accounts for the six companies. She is in charge of compiling and reporting corporate financial information to various funding sources including OFN, CARS, CDFI, etc., and is responsible for preparing audit schedules, as well as processing payroll and payroll reports.

David Smith - Accountant

David Smith came to Kentucky Highlands as an Accountant in November 2012. David assists in the preparation of monthly consolidated financial statements for Kentucky Highlands and its five subsidiaries. He is responsible for loan records management including preparing investment-related monthly management report schedules. David's responsibilities include recording cash receipts for the six companies and preparing all ACH payments drawn from borrowers. He is in charge of compiling and reporting investment-related information to various funding sources including OFN, CARS, CDFI, etc., and is responsible for preparing audit schedules. David also prepares financial reports for various funding sources including USDA IRP loan reports and USDA RBEG and ARC grant reports. He also assists in the preparation of the Kentucky Highlands Investment Corporation annual business plan.

Genia Hoffman - Document Manager

Genia

Genia Hoffman is the Documentation Manager for Kentucky Highlands Investment Corporation. She is primarily responsible for the electronically stored information for Kentucky Highlands and its related companies. Genia is responsible for collecting, scanning and uploading the records to a web-based management system and ensures that collateral and security documentation is accurate. She prepares Kentucky State Clearinghouse documents and enters online application for all documents that require State Clearinghouse review. In addition, she is responsible for maintaining files and financial records for the Kentucky Highlands United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) Self-Help program.

Ruby Adams - Executive Assistant

RubyRuby Adams is Executive Assistant at Kentucky Highlands Investment Corporation. Ruby is Secretary of the Corporation and is responsible for coordinating all board of director meetings and activities. She is responsible for making travel arrangements for the executive staff officers and other staff members. Ruby organizes and expedites the flow of work through the office supporting all staff members and consultants. Ruby coordinates with the PR consultant on press releases and the annual KHIC newsletter.

Tennille Reed - Accountant

Tennille Reed is an Accountant for Kentucky Highlands Investment Corporation.  Tennille is responsible for consolidating the financial statements for Kentucky Highlands and its five subsidiaries.  She also analyzes and reconciles trial balances for close to 100 funds for the correct presentation of temporarily and permanently restricted funds.  Tennille’s responsibilities also include preparing numerous investment-related monthly management report schedules.  She is in charge of compiling and reporting investment impact information to various funding sources including OFN, CARS, CDFI, etc., and is responsible for preparing audit schedules.  Tennille also prepares compliance reports for various grants and loans, and assists in the preparation of the Kentucky Highlands Investment Corporation annual business plan.

Terri Whitson - Accountant

TerriTerri Whitson joined Kentucky Highlands Investment Corporation in April 1979. Her responsibilities as Accountant include cash management and preparation of monthly financial statements for Kentucky Highlands and its five subsidiaries or related companies. Terri's cash management responsibilities include daily monitoring and monthly reconciliation of numerous cash and investment accounts. She is responsible for accounts payable, notes payable, and fixed assets activity. Terri is responsible for payroll reports as well as several of Kentucky Highlands reports to funding agencies. Due to requirements of Kentucky Highlands funding sources, Terri maintains multiple bank accounts and monitors them through online banking software, which she also uses for wire/account transfers and ACH transfers. Terri is also responsible for daily wire transfers for working capital lines of credit, one of Kentucky Highlands major investment instruments.
